At only four years old, The Children’s Museum of the Upstate was given the great honor of becoming an affiliate of the Smithsonian Institution. In a network of 184 museums, educational, and cultural organizations in 43 states, Panama, and Puerto Rico, TCMU is the only children’s museum to hold affiliate status. As an affiliate, the Children’s Museum has access to Smithsonian resources, including its 136 million-object collections and traveling exhibitions, and exclusive collaborations on STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math) initiatives.
Open Tuesday through Saturday with $10 admission for adults and $9 tickets for children ages 1-15, the beloved museum is a must-see while visiting Greenville. With exhibits covering everything from rocket ship launches to teddy bear clinics, TCMU has 3 floors of interactive installations sure to capture the attention and spark the imagination in kids of all ages. Take a lunch break at Seedlings Restaurant, and pick up a keepsake at The More to Explore Store before you go. This way you will remember your day at the only Smithsonian-affiliated Children’s Museum long after your visit.
